WORD OF THE DAY: MISE EN PLACE "put in place". It's the preparation and assembly of ingredients, pans, utensils, and plates or serving pieces needed for a particular dish or services period." WOW!!! That sounds so complicated. All it really means is to gather everything together before you get started so that you don't forget something.
RECIPE OF THE DAY: "CARROT TACOS" I got this recipe from a good friend name E.Stone. Shout out to him. This is a great dish for those who do not wish to eat meat. I hope you enjoy it like my family does. Recently, I made this dish for my water aerobic class who are vegetarians, and it was a hit. Many of them told me that they do not like carrots. After eating these tacos, they now like carrots.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED: Saute` pan / Skillet*Large spoon*Sharp knife*Plastic knife(better for cutting lettuce, will not bruise the lettuce )*Bowels for ingredients
INGREDIENTS:*Shredded carrot*Lettuce*Tomatoes*Sour Cream*Taco Seasoning*Taco Cheese*Taco Shells (hard/soft)*Salsa Sauce
1. Gather the Mise En Place
2. Clean carrots and shred them ( I use my Omega Juicer)
3. Add carrots to skillet with Taco Seasoning package. Cook for 5-8 minutes
4 While carrots are cooking, slice and dice lettuce and tomatoes
5. Place taco shells in preheated oven on 350 degrees for 5 minutes
6. When tacos are done remove from heat
7. Assemble as follow; Taco, carrots mixture, diced tomatoes, salsa sauce, lettuce, cheese, top with sour cream
8. If using soft tacos shells. Place shredded cheese on top of tacos and heat in microwave for no more than 20 seconds.
